About us


Akino Environmental Consultants(AEC) is a specialist environmental consultancy geared towards providing sound and innovative solutions and strategies to a wide array of clientele. This company was established in 2012 to fill the environmental gap in large and small scale projects across the Caribbean. Too often, environmental components are neglected or reduced to an afterthought. The result is usually to the detriment of our surrounding environment. The cost to remedy these problems far outweighs the cost of planning in the initial stages of project development.

Our Vision
It is our desire that soon environmental impact would be one of the fundamental considerations of companies and groups operating in the Caribbean. We aim to change the thought patterns of decision makers to that of “plan then act”, rather than “act then remedy” with respect to the environment. We will work assiduously with our clients to deduce the best solutions and course of action to be taken, resulting in environmental, moral and economic benefits to all parties involved.

Our specialized services are:
Environmental Project Management
o This is one of our main services, where we work along with project leaders to identify, develop, coordinate and execute the environmental component of a project. This usually involves liaising with regulatory bodies, chairing stakeholder meetings, on-site supervision of projects and preparation and or presentation of reports.

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)
o We conduct EIAs based on the requirements outlined by the regulatory agency if mandated; or based on the requests of the client. These assessments investigate the potential impact of certain activities on the environment and guides decision making. We also supply recommendations based on the final EIA report upon request.

Water and Wastewater Consulting
o AEC provides guidance on the development or improvement of water and wastewater systems. We facilitate the entire process from assessment of needs to procurement and implementation.

Geographic Information Services (GIS)
