The incumbent ensures that the operations team lives and breathes the purpose and values of the Company and is passionate about customer service and people development. He/she is responsible for the operations of all Retail Stores and for allocating and deploying resources to ensure operational excellence and success.

Job Responsibilities:

• Works closely with the Business Lead to define and develop the Company’s operational strategy, overall business goals and targets in collaboration with functional heads.
• Provides strong leadership, motivates and manages direct reports to set and attain aggressive goals in accordance with Company’s overall objectives.
• Actively engage with employees, frequently visiting the stores and participating in regular training to expose teams to the purpose of the Company.
• Develops, coaches and mentors a cohesive team focusing primarily on aligning Store Managers with a common purpose that fosters mutual respect and a spirit of goodwill and cooperation.
• Works with Store Management to solve conflicts and assist in improving employee performance and retention. This involves periodic store visits to check employee performance and gauge customer satisfaction.
• Encourages and instils a culture that is focused on delivering high quality service, customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Implements tools for managers and employees including mystery shopper programme, walk-the-store, site cleaning, merchandising/promotional standards, and signage standards.
• Works closely with Operations Teams to drive Mystery Shopper and Operations Excellence, Sales, Store level profitability, including Bench Planning.
• Ensures financial objectives are met through the application of cost-effective work standards in all operations.
• Analyse monthly and quarterly key management reports, budgets (plan versus actual), profit and loss statements, inventory and margin reports and communicate pertinent financial results to executive leadership and employees to promote buy-in and employee accountability for Company results.
• Utilizes research data and reports to make informed decisions and action plans.
• Implements and executes continuously inventory and financial controls.
• Responsible for delivery of KPIs on the store operating statement.
• Work with Marketing and Procurement to develop and implement product innovation and campaigns to generate revenue and increase customers.
• Enforce and monitor compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the freshness and quality of all fresh food products.
• Implement and oversee HACCP protocols and other relevant safety measures.
• Drive the business using E-Commerce.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• 6-7 years’ proven experience in operations management, preferably in the fresh food or retail industry.
