The role of aBanksman is crucial in ensuring the safe movement and coordination of vehiclesand equipment within construction sites, warehouses, or industrialenvironments. Banksman duties involve guiding vehicle operators, signalingmovements, and maintaining clear communication to prevent accidents and ensureefficient operations.

Responsibilities:

·       Directing the movement of vehiclesand machinery, including cranes, forklifts, and trucks, within designatedareas.

·       Providing clear hand signals orusing radio communication to instruct vehicle operators on manoeuvring safely.

·       Assisting in the positioning ofloads during lifting operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulationsand operational procedures.

·       Monitoring and managing traffic flowto prevent congestion and maintain a safe working environment.

·       Conducting visual inspections of equipment and reporting any defects or hazards to the appropriate personnel.

    Education& Experience:

·       High school diploma or equivalentqualification.

·       Certification in Banksman operationsor relevant training courses (e.g., Banksman Slinger Training).

·       Previous experience in a similarrole within the construction, logistics, or industrial sectors is advantageous.

·       Familiarity with health and safetyregulations and best practices in vehicle and equipment operations.

·       Proficiency in communication skills,both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively convey instructions to vehicleoperators.
