Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, and closure. This role involves managing project teams, resources, budgets, and risks to ensure successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget constraints. The Project Manager collaborates with various stakeholders, enforces quality standards, and maintains effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities
:

  • Project Planning and Initiation:
  • Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform project decisions.
  • Identify and engage project stakeholders, establishing clear communication channels.
  • Team Management and Leadership:
  • Form and lead project teams, assigning roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to project team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among team members.
  • Project Execution and Control:
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with plans and schedules.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers as required.
  • Implement controls to track and manage risks, issues, and changes.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and report project progress to stakeholders.
  • Budget and Cost Management:
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets.
  • Track project financials, perform forecasting, and control costs.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with financial experts for effective project financial management.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and address risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement risk response plans to minimize disruptions.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain risk registers.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Establish and enforce project quality standards and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits.
  • Implement corrective actions to address quality deficiencies.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and nurture relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively.
  • Address concerns and facilitate conflict resolution when needed.
  • Project Closure and Handover:
  • Oversee project closure activities, including final inspections and documentation.
  • Conduct project evaluations and lessons learned sessions.
  • Ensure a smooth transition to the operations and maintenance phase.

  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors and financial experts to manage project finances effectively.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor and address potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Implement appropriate risk response plans to minimize project disruptions.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk registers.

  • Quality Assurance:
    • Establish and enforce quality standards and processes.
    • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations.
    • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits.
    • Implement corrective actions to address quality deficiencies.

  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other relevant parties.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project progress, risks, and changes effectively.
    • Address stakeholder concerns and facilitate conflict resolution when necessary.

  • Project Closure and Handover:
    • Ensure proper project closure activities, including final inspections, documentation, and handover to the client.
    • Conduct project evaluations and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure smooth transition to the operations and maintenance phase.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
    • Proven experience in managing complex construction projects, preferably in the power plant sector.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Proven experience in managing complex construction projects, preferably in the power plant sector.
    • Strong project management skills, including project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
    • Proficient in project management software and tools.
    • Solid understanding of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
