Job vacancy Warehouse/ Cold Storage Attendant

KEY FUNCTIONS

Receive, store, and distribute products within the cold storage ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area.
• Sort and place products on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as type, processed items, product/batch code.
• Mark cartons with identifying information using appropriate method.
• Responsible for proper stock rotation; ensuring that FIFO (First in; First Out) method are adhered to. 
• Ensure cold storage is accessible and safe as required by the OSHA standards. 
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate methods and sign for issuance and receipt of goods to and from the freezer. 
• Collect and position pallets at required locations for storage, loading or unloading operations.
• Must comply with designated holding areas for all categories of stock in freezer. 
• Organise storage space for finished goods by rotating goods and materials in warehouses, as necessary.
• Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards and ensure production requests are delivered in a timely manner. 
• Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  Notify supervisor of stock depletion ahead of time. 
• Ensure accurate pallet labeling, aiding traceability by product name, batch, and quantity. 
• Perform other related duties as required by the job function.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Secondary School Education preferred.
• Must be able to work in cold conditions.  Temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. 
• Knowledge and experience in Warehousing will be an asset. 
• Must be able to drive forklift.
