PURPOSE & KEY RESULT AREAS

Purpose & Objective:

Build and maintain best practices, processes and systems to enable Blue Waters to hire the best talent within established timeframes thereby facilitating the achievement of its strategic objective. The job holder will partner with departments to identify hiring needs and use a combination of strategies to attract, source and select the ideal candidate and orient them into the Company. He/she will manage the Blue Waters Employer Brand perception by monitoring, posting content and responding to enquiries on the Blue Waters social media platforms as well as promoting the Company as the employer of choice. In addition, the job holder will Supervise the team of Kitchen Assistants to ensure the provision of timely and quality hostess services to key stake holders and the general upkeep of the assigned administrative areas in keeping with Food Safety and Health & Safety standards.

MANPOWER PLANNING, RESOURCING & JOB DESCRIPTION MANAGEMENT:

  • Collaborate with Department Managers to identify existing and future hiring needs and devise the recruitment/manpower plans.
  • Maintain a library of the approved organizational charts for each department.
  • Maintain the database of the Company’s Backbone Structure.
  • Implement systems to monitor recruitment metrics, report on trends and make recommendations to address gaps identified.
  • Train and provide technical support to Managers, Supervisor and Heads of Departments on the creation of Job Descriptions.
  • Conduct an annual review or as required all Job Description in conjunction with the subject matter experts to ensure alignment with the Company’s strategic objectives.
  • Maintain a database of Job Descriptions for all positions in the Company.

Recruitment, Selection and New Hire Orientation:

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract/source ideal candidates inclusive of drafting advertisements for internal and external posting of vacancies, Headhunting and networking.
  • Maintain a database with all Employee Requisitions received.
  • Develop and maintain Talent Pools of suitably qualified candidates for select positions in the Company to reduce the time to hire.
  • Partner with Recruitment Agencies to identify qualified prospective employees for existing/upcoming vacancies.
  • Implement systems to facilitate the effective and timely shortlisting of potential candidates including the administration and/ or co-ordination of entrance examinations, profile tests, preparation of recruitment Filters and other screening mechanisms for prospective candidates.
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule
  • Manage the candidate experience by providing continuous feedback during the recruitment process to minimize candidate dropouts and build candidate relationships.
  • Conduct reference checks and generate employee contracts for successful candidates.
  • Follow up with new hires to ensure all pre-requisites for employment are met.
  • Support the new hire orientation processes by forwarding to Managers the IT Service request form, issue the Orientation video to the new hire before their start date and ensure the employee receives their Employee ID and Parking Pass.
  • Guide new hires through the orientation/onboarding processes and obtain feedback on the areas identified for improvement.
  • Prepare status reports on recruitment activities and statistics and make recommendations for improvement.

Management of the Employer Brand Perception:

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the Company’s reputation and attractiveness as the Employer of Choice.
  • Identify the most effective channels for posting highlights and content on the Company’s employee engagement activities.
  • Maintain social media presence by visiting sites daily to respond to questions/requests to join the Company’s network and post content.
  • Measure the results of the strategies by conducting online surveys to obtain the views/feedback from potential candidates and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in the coordination and attend events associated with recruiting events such as career fairs, mock interviews, networking events and resume review sessions.
  • Supervision of Kitchen Assistants
  • Implement a system to monitor and ensure timely and quality hostess service to assigned Managers, Board members and SLA partner(s) for meetings as well as daily lunch and beverage services.
  • Review monthly stock order request, confirm receipt of the items and escalate the non-receipt of items to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Conduct periodic audit on kitchen utensils, present findings to the team and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement systems to monitor and ensure daily and monthly cleaning is completed for all assigned areas.
Effective People Management & Leadership:
  • Perform the full range of Performance Management activities for support staff in accordance with the expected standards, inclusive of taking corrective action for non-performance and recognizing top performers in a timely manner.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance/improve the engagement levels within the team.
  • Monitor the team’s time and attendance and take corrective action for non-compliance with the required standards.
  • Identify the training and learning needs of support staff and recommend /implement appropriate interventions to address identified needs. This includes coaching and provide technical guidance, when required.
  • Assist in maintaining the ideal team complement by recommending suitably candidates to fill vacancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, adhering and enforcing standards and procedures for GMP.
  • Respond to queries and provide clarification on issues raised by the team on the expected standards of behaviour as outlined in the Employee/Fanatics Best Practice Guidelines (Handbook).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS & KNOWLEDGE FOR THE JOB:

  • Minimum of a Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or related Social Science.
  • A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or related Social Science would be considered an asset.
  • Recommended Experience - Specialist Knowledge - Certifications
  • Detail any specific job related experience and/or specialist knowledge/training that is required to enable the job holder to perform this job satisfactorily:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Recruitment and Selection.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and Job Boards
  • Ability to use & interpret Psychometric Tests and other assessment tools.
  • Working knowledge of Labour Laws and Employment Contracts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern HRM approaches and techniques.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working conditions:

Normal working schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. However, the Company operates on a 24/7 basis, therefore from time to time you may be required to work outside normal working hours/days to satisfy exceptional customer needs.

  • Required to sit for lengthy periods of time. May be required to pull, push, stoop and lift items of at least 50lbs.
